Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has dismissed the prime minister and replaced him with the head of his cabinet ahead of national elections next year and at a time when economic anxieties are running high. The boys' high school soccer team in the Maine city that was the site of a mass shooting more than two weeks ago has won the state title. The Lewiston Blue Devils beat Deering 3-2 on Saturday in the Class A boys’ soccer state championship game. Authorities say firefighters have mostly extinguished a large blaze that burned trailers, cars and other things in storage lots beneath a major highway near downtown Los Angeles, forcing the temporary closure of the roadway. The fire sent towering flames into the night sky early Saturday morning, and daybreak revealed twisted guardrails and blackened, chipped concrete at an Interstate 10 overpass in an industrial zone. Police have arrested a Los Angeles man in connection with the discovery of the torso of a dismembered female body and the disappearance of his wife and her live-in parents. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Saturday the arrest of 35-year-old Samuel Haskell on suspicion of murder while officials attempt to identify a torso that was found within a bag in a dumpster on Wednesday. A Texas police officer was killed in a shooting that also left the suspect dead and a second officer wounded in Austin. That is according to interim Police Chief Robin Henderson. Police say six people including former NFL player D.J. Hayden have died in a two-vehicle crash in downtown Houston. A Chrysler 300 sped through a red light early Saturday and collided with an SUV. Funerals for the 18 victims of the mass shooting in Maine last month are nearing a conclusion with a service for a husband and father of two sons who was slain at a bowling alley.
