A Minnesota iron foundry has been violating air emissions laws for at least five years, but the state agency responsible for enforcing air permits didn’t take action against the company. That's according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency tested the air along the perimeter of Smith Foundry in Minneapolis in October 2022 and in April. A Texas businessman at the center of the scandal that led to the historic impeachment of state Attorney General Ken Paxton has been charged with additional federal crimes. The new indictment of Nate Paul alleges that he defrauded business partners. The Culinary Workers Union in Las Vegas has reached a tentative deal with casino giant Caesars Entertainment that could help avert a sweeping strike. Citigroup intentionally discriminated against Armenian Americans when they applied for credit cards, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau said Wednesday. According to the agency, Citibank argued internally that Armenians were more likely to commit fraud and referred to applicants as “bad guys” or affiliated with organized crime. Airbnb says the biggest reason it loses some bookings to hotels is that people never know exactly what their Airbnb rental will look like until they check in. So the company is trying to change that, by creating a new category of listings with very high ratings from guests. Airbnb said Wednesday it will roll out this and other changes this week. CEO Brian Chesky says there will be 2 million “Guest Favorites” out of Airbnb's 7 million listings. He expects that Guest Favorites will charge more but they will be more predictable, like a hotel room.

Georgia’s state taxes on gasoline and diesel will be suspended until lawmakers return for a special session on Nov. 29. Gov. Brian Kemp extended the tax rollback in a Wednesday executive order. The Republican governor in September revived the fuel tax suspension after he and lawmakers rolled back the taxes for 10 months during his 2022 reelection campaign. GM's Cruise autonomous vehicle unit is recalling all 950 of its cars to update its software after one dragged a pedestrian to the side of a San Francisco street last month. The company says in documents posted by U.S. safety regulators Wednesday that with the updated software, Cruise vehicles will remain stationary in similar cases.
