Railroad unions are calling for a review after a worker was crushed to death between two cars over the weekend by a remote-controlled train in a CSX railyard in Ohio. A top product executive at Microsoft who launched its Surface line of devices and Windows 11 is leaving the company. A staff memo says Panos Panay is stepping down after nearly 20 years at Microsoft, most recently as chief product officer. Panay was credited with creating the Surface brand of computer and other mostly high-end devices. Another longtime executive, Yusuf Mehdi, will take lead on the Windows and Surface businesses and products. The note said Panay would be helping with the transition.

Illinois officials and Native Americans whose ancestors called the state home hope a new state law will speed the recovery and reburial of their relatives' remains unearthed over the past two centuries. Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed the Human Remains Protection Act last month. It updates a 1989 state law and provides methods for compliance with a federal law requiring that remains from any burial site disturbed must be returned to the associated tribe. Hunter Biden has filed a lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service, arguing that two agents violated his right to privacy when they publicly aired his tax information as they pressed claims that a federal investigation of him had been improperly handled. An Oregon judge will decide whether a gun control law approved by voters last year is lawful under the state constitution. Measure 114 requires a permit, criminal background check and training course to buy a gun while also banning high-capacity magazines. The Chevron Corp. says a liquefied natural gas plant in Australia has resumed full production after a fault cut output by one-fifth for three days. A turbine at the Wheatstone LNG plant in Western Australia state tripped last Thursday as around 500 unionized Chevron staff escalated strike action over pay and conditions. Wheatstone and Chevron’s Gorgon plant, both in the state’s Pilbara region, account for between 5% and 7% of global LNG supply. Officials with the Reno Air Racing Association say the planes collided at the conclusion of the T-6 Gold race around 2:15 p.m. Sunday. 

Massachusetts authorities say a World War I-era plane crashed and flipped over onto its roof as the pilot tried to land outside of a military history museum. The pilot was not hurt. The vintage single-engine Nieuport 28 was attempting to land shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday at the American Heritage Museum in Stow when the front landing gear failed.
