Automaker Stellantis has made a counteroffer to the United Auto Workers that includes wage increases in each year of a new four-year contract totaling 14.5%. The raises, which would be for most workers, doesn’t include any lump sum payments. That's what Mark Stewart, chief operating officer of Stellantis North America, said in a letter to employees. Police say one person has been shot and wounded at a concert headlined by rapper Lil Baby in Memphis, Tennessee. Police believe it was a premeditated, targeted shooting. City police posted on social media that officers responded to a report of a shooting late Thursday. A male victim who was taken to a hospital was no longer in critical condition Friday. A helicopter has crashed off the coast of the United Arab Emirates, killing one pilot while another remains missing. That's according to comments by authorities on Friday. The crash happened offshore, though the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authorities did not specify where. It identified the aircraft involved as a Bell 212, which can carry 14 passengers and a pilot. Grocers Kroger and Albertsons are selling more than 400 stores and other assets to C&S Wholesale Grocers in an approximately $1.9 billion deal as part of their efforts to complete their merger. The agreement includes selling 413 stores, along with QFC, Mariano’s and Carrs brand names. U.S. home loan applications are the lowest in decades as evidence mounts that rising mortgage rates and home prices are shutting out many aspiring homeowners. Apple released a significant security update for iPhones and iPads Thursday to patch newly discovered security vulnerabilities in the devices' system software.
