Longtime Trump adviser and staunch conservative Roger Stone has a new mission: legalizing marijuana nationwide.

Stone announced on Friday at the Cannabis World Congress and Business Expo in New York the formation of the bipartisan United States Cannabis Coalition, an advocacy group with the express purpose of protecting state's rights to legalize and regulate marijuana.

Corinne Olympios is requesting the tapes from the alleged "Bachelor in Paradise" scandal that has made news recently.

“Corinne hasn’t seen the tapes,” the contestant's publicist Stan Rosenfield told The Hollywood Reporter. “We just want to find out what happened and get to the bottom of it."

THR reports that Marty Singer, Olympios' high-powered attorney, has sent a letter to "Bachelor in Paradise" producer Warner Bros. demanding that it release the tapes to his client.

Doctors attending to Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana said Friday they feel better about his condition after he was shot by a gunman.

"I feel a lot more confident and a lot more optimistic than I did two, three days ago," said Dr. Jack Sava at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center. "I would say that when he arrived, he was in critical condition with an imminent risk of death."

A Medal of Honor recipient who was later called a "one-man Marine Corps" died on Wednesday at the age of 92, the Idaho Statesman reported.

Art Jackson, who served with the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division, was one of 28,000 Marines who took part in the two-month long of Battle of Peleliu during World War II.

1,800 of them lost their lives, and 8,000 more were wounded.

The US government has filed a lawsuit asking to take ownership of 2.5 million shares of preferred Palantir stock that were allegedly caught up in Malaysia's massive 1MDB scandal.

Amazon just bought Whole Foods and sent shares of its grocery competitors off the cliff. 

Now that Whole Foods is looking like it will be part of a larger corporation, short term profitability is less of a concern, according to Michael Lasser, an analyst at UBS. This will free the grocer to invest more heavily into increasing same-store sales, a weakness for the company in recent earnings reports. Amazon could help the store cut prices, which is bad news for its competitors. Amazon stunned the grocery industry — and the world — on Friday when it announced its plans to buy Whole Foods. If approved, the deal would see the online retail giant acquire the high-end grocer for a whopping $13.7 billion.

Amazon is buying Whole Foods for $42 a share in cash.

So why is Whole Foods trading at more than $43 a share?

After a brief trading halt, shares of Whole Foods jumped about 27.5% to $42 on Friday. This matches the price per share Amazon said it will pay for the company. Theoretically, this means Whole Foods is currently worth $42 a share.

But once leveling off at $42, shares of Whole Foods began to creep higher, and are currently above $43.
