SPRINGFIELD, Vt. (AP) — A bridge is Vermont has been renamed to honor veterans who served during the first Gulf War. The Eagle Times reports (http://bit.ly/1POM2wp ) Springfield's selectmen approved a measure Monday to change Vermont Bridge 65 to the Desert Storm Veterans Bridge. Town Manager Tom Yennerell says the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post supports the idea and has offered to pay for the signs to be posted at each end of the bridge. ELSBERRY, Mo. (AP) — Authorities say an eastern Missouri man died when his tractor hit a tree and overturned. The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the victim as 66-year-old Gene Loness of Elsberry in Lincoln County. Investigators say the accident happened about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Loness' funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann, near St. Louis. Arrangements are being handled by Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
