Tesla

Tesla's stock price is up around 0.63% on Thursday after the company lowered prices on its most expensive vehicles.

The company's cars are listed on its website for $3,500 to $5,000 lower than yesterday, with the highest drop coming from the Model S and X P100D, according to a report from Engadget. 

That's because the 100kWh batteries that power the cars are being manufactured more efficiently.

This year's iPhone will mark the product's 10th anniversary, and most Apple watchers are expecting the company to make a big deal out of the event. It'll also be the first time Apple will publicly show off its new Apple Park headquarters.

National Hurricane Center

Hurricane Irma is intensifying as it makes its way across the Atlantic. It's now a Category 2 storm, according to the National Hurricane Center.

It's too early to know whether the storm will make landfall in the Caribbean, Mexico, or the US. But Irma has firmly captured the attention of meteorologists as Harvey has become a tropical depression.

The FDA approved the first-ever gene therapy in the US on Wednesday.

The drug, called Kymriah, is a highly personalized cancer treatment called CAR T-cell therapy (CAR is short for chimeric antigen receptor).

It's a type of cancer immunotherapy, which harnesses the body's immune system to take on cancer cells. In this case, the therapy removes a person's cells, reengineers them, then puts them back in their body to attack cancer cells.

Burning Man — the enormous festival held in Nevada's Black Rock Desert each year — hosts giant art installations, wild dance parties, and a mega-tall wooden structure of "the man" that attendees set on fire at the end of the event.

CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — Campbell Soup Co. said Thursday that it expects sales to keep falling over the next year as more people skip its canned soups and bottled juices in favor of fresher foods.

"The operating environment for the packaged foods industry remains challenging," CEO Denise Morrison said.
