CINCINNATI (AP) — A 36-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with stealing a butterfly from an exhibit at a Cincinnati botanical garden. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Springfield Township police on Friday arrested 36-year-old Jamie Revis, of Springfield Township. She's charged with theft for stealing a blue morpho butterfly from Krohn Conservatory two weeks ago. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Illinois libraries will receive more than $15 million in grants from state librarian Jesse White. White is also secretary of state. He says the money is an annual allocation of Per Capita and Equalization Aid grants. It goes to 630 libraries in the Prairie State. White says that "libraries are the best and most reliable information resource available to citizens." PRINCETON, N.C. (AP) — Investigators say a man in North Carolina has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after a shootout with a deputy. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says 38-year-old Lemont Turrentine was one of four suspects who ran from a deputy checking on a burglary call early Saturday in Princeton. COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) — Prosecutors say a federal prison has been sentenced to more jail time for being found with synthetic marijuana while behind bars. Official say 32-year-old Ivan Antonio Cervantes was sentenced Wednesday to 18 additional months in prison and two years of supervised release. The sentenced is to be served after his current 70-month sentence for another felony drug offense. ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — A pair of Peregrine falcons has found an unusual new home — atop a Northern Illinois news tower. The Rockford Register Star reports that the falcons have nested on the eighth floor of the paper's news tower in Rockford. The female bird has laid four eggs but they are not all expected to hatch. Law enforcement officials say around two-thirds of Ohioans arrested for drunken driving are only charged once.
