Canada’s Army has carried out an investigation into the source of a mysterious noise coming from the sea floor in the remote Arctic, after hunters from a nearby Inuit community raised concerns about scarce numbers of game in a normally rich hunting ground. 

Paul Quassa, an assemblyman in the Canadian territory of Nunavut, blames the noise – described variously as a pinging, hum or buzz – for driving away the animals in the Fury and Hecla Strait.

MEXICO CITY, Nov 4 (Reuters) — Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim said on Friday that Donald Trump's plans would "destroy" the United States economy and joked that the Republican presidential candidate's proposed wall at the border would be undermined by smuggling tunnels.

Coloradans will vote Nov. 8 on a plan that would provide all state residents with health care when they need it.

Amendment 69 would replace an inefficient private insurance system with a cooperative insurer that would cover Coloradans similarly to how Medicare covers our seniors.

In late May, Reddit ditched Imgur after making its own photo-uploading tool, even though Imgur had long been the popular repository for the funny images that make up Reddit.

A Republican congressman wrote the nation's top four television executives on Friday and notified them that he intended to request a hearing on supposed media bias.

“I am writing to inform you that I intend to request a hearing to explore network media bias in coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign,” wrote Kevin Cramer, a member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

The letter was sent to the top executives at ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox.

A number of Republican-controlled states have passed voter ID laws in the last several years, requiring voters to provide identification to prove who they are when they cast their ballot.

Proponents of the laws insist they aim to prevent voter fraud, although research has concluded it is incredibly rare. But critics argue the laws disenfranchise low-income and minority voters who may have trouble getting ID.

Jurors in South Carolina on Friday watched three minutes of a cellphone video that captured white police officer Michael Slager shooting black motorist Walter Scott as he ran away.
