A deck has collapsed at a Montana country club, leaving more than 30 injured. The second-story patio floor of Billings’ Briarwood Country Club broke Saturday evening, causing head wounds, broken ribs and other injuries as patrons landed atop one another and scraps of food and debris splayed across the lawn next to the club’s golf course. The Billings Police Department said there were no fatalities as of Sunday morning. Injured patrons remain in local hospitals. The cause of the collapse has yet to be determined.

A judge has ruled that a health clinic in a Montana town plagued by deadly asbestos contamination must pay the government almost $6 million in penalties and damages after submitting hundreds of false asbestos claims. The 337 false claims made patients eligible for Medicare and other benefits they shouldn’t have received. A police officer in Fargo, North Dakota, who was ambushed and fatally shot by a heavily armed man was laid to rest on Saturday. Twenty-three-year-old Jake Wallin was killed July 14 when a man armed with 1,800 rounds of ammunition, multiple guns and explosives began firing on officers who were responding to a traffic crash.
