LONDON (AP) — British police say cordons have been removed at a major London mall where a suspicious vehicle was being checked. Police said Friday the incident at the Westfield London mall has ended. Two nearby subway stations were briefly closed while a vehicle in the mall parking lot was checked. Westfield is one of the largest shopping malls in Europe and has recently expanded.

EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Plans have been announced for a memorial honoring the 43 people who died in a mudslide four years ago northeast of Seattle in the town of Oso. The Chicago Tribune reports the jury returned the verdict Wednesday in the case of Dominique Hodrick. Ryan Stone, of Plainfield, was also sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Hartford to 10 years of probation upon release. The 30-year-old Stone pleaded guilty in December to one count of production of child pornography.
