Bay Area commuters warned of high winds on bridges
High wind advisories were issued Friday morning for all three cross-bay bridges, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Wind speeds reached gusts of 8 miles per hour near the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge and the Bay Bridge, and the National Weather Service predicted gusts as strong 22 mph for Friday.
The traffic advisories include the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, the Bay Bridge and the Dumbarton Bridge.
The roadways have remained mostly clear as of 6:30 a.m., according to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. A building fire by the northbound lanes of Interstate 880 near Highway 82 is causing delays in San Jose.
