NEW YORK (AP) — One of the earliest Harvey Weinstein accusers says that despite the #MeToo reckoning, it's "open season" on survivors who dare speak out about sexual misconduct. NEW YORK (AP) — The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau spent more than $6,000 frosting the windows on the offices of senior staff in recent months, according to receipts and documents obtained by The Associated Press. The spending on window frosting comes only months after the CFPB moved into renovated offices at a cost of more than $240 million. WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal Reserve officials signaled rising confidence last month that a strong economy will lift inflation closer to its 2 percent target and that they may accelerate the Fed's pace of interest rate hikes as a result. The minutes of the Fed's March 20-21 meeting, which were released Wednesday, showed that a number of participants believed that a stronger outlook for economic activity plus rising inflation implied that the path for the Fed's key interest rate in coming years could be "slightly steeper" than expected.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The federal government recorded a budget deficit of $208.7 billion in March, an increase of more than $32 billion from a year ago as revenues slipped and expenditures climbed. The Treasury Department said Wednesday that the February deficit was 18.4 percent higher than a year ago, largely due to increased expenditures on benefits for the military, veterans and recipients of supplemental security income as well as higher Medicare payments because April expenses were paid in March. SEATTLE (AP) — The NHL expansion effort in Seattle took another step forward Wednesday, naming Tod Leiweke as the president and CEO for the prospective club. The move is not a surprise considering his background in the market and his experience with the NHL. Leiweke served as president of the Seattle Seahawks from 2003-10 before taking over running the Tampa Bay Lightning. SEATTLE (AP) — Court documents say a driver intentionally sped up his vehicle before striking a security guard outside of the Boeing Renton plant. A Renton police officer wrote in court documents that the force of the collision on Monday sent Security Guard Thomas Achten approximately 8 feet (2 meters) over the vehicle. MOSCOW (AP) — The Russian ruble fell and then recovered ground Wednesday after being shaken by U.S. sanctions and President Donald Trump's threatened missile strike on Syria. The ruble fell 2 percent against the dollar in morning trading in Moscow and dropped to its lowest point since 2016 after Trump tweeted that missiles "will be coming." However, the currency bounced back and by evening traded slightly down on the day at 62.8 to the dollar. The euro traded at around 77.7 in the early evening after going above 80 earlier in the day. WASHINGTON (AP) — Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg told a House oversight panel Wednesday that he believes it is "inevitable" there will be regulation of the social media industry and also disclosed to lawmakers that his own data was included in the personal information sold to malicious third parties. "The internet is growing in importance around the world in people's lives and I think that it is inevitable that there will need to be some regulation," Zuckerberg said during testimony before the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
