It still has more than enough data on your interests and hobbies to target ads. The company will still tap browser and device IDs to track visits to third-party sites and apps. ATLANTA (AP) — The nation's top public health agency has its money for a new lab to handle dangerous germs. Last month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention asked Congress for funds to build a new state-of-the art laboratory building. CDC officials got $480 million for the endeavor. Money for the project was tucked inside a $1.3 trillion, 2,232-page government spending bill passed by Congress last week. LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan regulators said Thursday that they ordered the closure of 210 medical marijuana businesses over a two-week period, largely because their owners failed to apply for a state license by a mid-February deadline or did not receive authorization from their municipalities. NEW YORK (AP) — Facebook says it is making progress weeding out fake accounts and fake news on its service. The moves are aimed at preventing election interference ahead of the U.S. midterms. Samidh Chakrabarti, a product manager, said in a conference call Thursday that Facebook is using machine learning to block fake accounts before they spread misinformation, rather than wait for reports from users. WASHINGTON (AP) — Americans increased their spending just 0.2 percent in February, while their incomes were boosted by increased wages and business owners' income. The Commerce Department said Thursday the modest spending increase followed an equal gain in January and a rise of 0.4 percent in December. Incomes increased a healthy 0.4 percent. U.S. airlines started the year showing a slight improvement in keeping flights on time. The Transportation Department said Thursday that 79.6 percent of flights in January arrived within 14 minutes of schedule, compared with 76 percent in the same month last year. But January's performance was worse than December, when 80.3 percent of flights arrived on time. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A touring exhibition that explores the evolution of video games and features more than 100 playable games has landed in Philadelphia. "Game Masters " opens Saturday at The Franklin Institute and runs through Sept. 3. The exhibition is divided into sections that explore legendary arcade games, leading contemporary designers and the work of independent designers.
