REYKJAVIK, Iceland (AP) — Some 600 computers used to "mine" bitcoin and other virtual currencies have been stolen from data centers in Iceland in what police say is the biggest series of thefts ever in the North Atlantic island nation. DETROIT (AP) — Organizers of Detroit's big auto show are talking about moving it from frigid January to October starting as early as 2020. North American International Auto Show spokesman Max Muncey says a schedule change is being considered but is not final. Value menus have become the tool of choice at fast food companies to generate traffic. In January, McDonald's revived its popular Dollar Menu, with items priced at $1, $2 or $3. NEW YORK (AP) — BlackRock, an investment firm that manages over $6 trillion in assets, says it is asking gun makers and retailers how they are responding to a high school shooting in Florida, a move that could add pressure on those companies to make changes. The firm says it is also looking into creating new investment funds for investors that excludes firearm makers and retailers. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Rain moved through Southern California early Friday, sparing a strip of coastal communities from a repeat of deadly mudslides that struck in January. Evacuation orders affecting up to 30,000 people on the south Santa Barbara County coast were lifted at midmorning. WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington's cherished cherry tree blossoms signal the unofficial start of spring in the nation's capital, and it looks like it's coming a bit early this year. News outlets report the National Park Service announced Thursday the projected peak date for the blossoms along the Tidal Basin will be March 17 to March 20.
