DETROIT (AP) — Mitsubishi is recalling nearly 227,000 vehicles in the U.S. to fix glass sunroofs that can fly off and parking brakes that may not work. The first recall covers nearly 57,000 Outlanders from 2007 to 2010, Lancers from 2008 to 2010, Lancer Evolutions from 2009 and 2010, and 2010 Lancer Sportbacks. TOKYO (AP) — Japan has a new robot cafe where customers can enjoy coffee brewed and served by a robot barista. The robot named Sawyer debuted this week at Henna Cafe in Tokyo's downtown business and shopping district of Shibuya. The shop's name in Japanese means "strange cafe." MADRID (AP) — Spain says it has extradited to the United States a Russian citizen who is suspected of being one the world's most notorious spammers. Pyotr Levashov, a 37-year-old from St. Petersburg, was arrested in April while vacationing with his family in Barcelona. U.S. authorities had asked for him to be detained on charges of fraud and unauthorized interception of electronic communications. Drugmaker Merck posted a loss of $872 million in the fourth quarter, as a big charge related to the recent U.S. tax overhaul more than offset higher medicine sales. Its adjusted earnings still topped Wall Street's expectations though. "Wash your stinking hands," Katherine Lockler says in a six-minute video that's been viewed 4.8 million times. Lockler told the Pensacola News Journal she recorded the video after a 12-hour shift on Jan. 27 because she's concerned people aren't taking the proper precautions during a nasty flu season. KENILWORTH, N.J. (AP) — Merck is reporting a fourth-quarter loss of $872 million, but its adjusted results topped Wall Street's view. The Kenilworth, New Jersey-based company had a loss of 32 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time costs and costs related to mergers and acquisitions, were 98 cents per share. LONDON (AP) — Britain's fertility authority says it has granted permission to doctors at clinic in northeastern England to create babies from the DNA of three people, to help prevent two women from passing on fatal, genetic diseases to their children. It is the first such approval for the U.K. but the technique has already previously been used: a baby was born in Mexico in 2016 using the experimental therapy. LONDON (AP) — Anglo-Swedish drugmaker AstraZeneca is reporting its first quarterly sales in years on the back of new cancer treatments. MANILA, Philippines (AP) — Philippine health officials said Friday that the deaths of three children injected with a Sanofi Pasteur dengue vaccine may have "causal association" to the inoculation, including two who may have died because the vaccine failed. The Philippine government halted its massive immunization drive last year after Sanofi said a study showed the vaccine may increase the risks of dengue in people vaccinated prior to infection. CHANTILLY, Va. (AP) — A Latvian airline is launching nonstop service connecting Washington, D.C., to London. Dulles International Airport, located outside the District of Columbia, announced Thursday that Primera Air will run five nonstop flights a week each way between Dulles and London's Stanstead Airport beginning in August.
