How near to knowing what it will look like are we? There is not much time for the 12th Super League team to pick up the cast offs but there may well be a fair few of them given that the reserves and DR are not running. We have a pretty good Idea about the destinations of some of our leavers but not all. Leneghan is reported to have said that we would be taking a smaller squad on so I imagine the likes of Woods and Jake Shorrocks will be moving on but what about the junior lads who would have been hoping to get a contract? No disrespect to Walker, but we've arguably struggled with the FB position since Hardaker left. The fact that Myler, a failed half-back, is preferred in this position says it all.

Walker seems like a skillful and elusive player, but I worry that he is not big or fast enough to become a top full-back. Injuries aren't helping and he probably needs more time, but this is a position with a lot more significance to the team than second-row (in Ward's case, where we could afford to be patient).

I'll start this by saying Wigan were pretty exceptional last night and were desperately unlucky to miss out. So this isn't a criticism.
But, in a game of such fine margins, you have to question whether our game management still needs to improve?

Not having much else to do I've been having a sort out of my Rugby League books and have decided to part with them, there's around forty. They are a mixture of paper backs and hardbacks, some Wakefield Trinity specific, some are biographies/autobiographies and a few are ones that I've bought whilst on holiday in Australia.

I was talking to my son yesterday about a game I saw at Fartown, I think it was in the 60s. It was a challenge cup game against Salford the weather was absolutely dreadful it was chucking down with rain all through the game and all day long. I seem to remember the final score was 0-0 or it may have been 2-2 I cant remember I think Salford had just signed David Watkins from Wales Rugby Union it was a big deal in those days. What a game, the brute force and grit from both teams. Also the self belief and determination to win of chasing that drop goal in the dying moments. As a RL fan that was awesome but as a Wire fan, sad because that’s what we lack.
