Trump White House chief of staff Mark Meadows has taken the witness stand to deny two of the allegations against him in a Georgia indictment accusing him of participating in an illegal scheme to overturn the 2020 election. American Airlines is drawing the largest fine ever keeping passengers on delayed flights without giving them a chance to leave the plane.

A digital platform where college athletes can alert their administrations anonymously to improper or illegal conduct by coaches, teammates or others is expanding to allow them to report suspected gambling activity. RealResponse’s partnership with U.S. Integrity will come at no additional cost to some 150 athletic departments that are clients. The service builds on a tip hotline U.S. Integrity and RealResponse unveiled in May and will give college athletic administrators a direct line to investigators.

Convicted former Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder has been transferred to Oklahoma to begin his time in federal prison. Bureau of Prisons records show the 64-year-old Republican was recently moved to the federal transfer center in Oklahoma City. He had been held in the Butler County Jail in southwestern Ohio since being sentenced in June to 20 years for racketeering conspiracy for his role in the largest corruption scheme in Ohio history. The box office results are in and Sony’s racing movie “Gran Turismo” won the weekend over “Barbie” after all. On Sunday, “Gran Turismo” appeared to be neck-and-neck with “Barbie,” with both hovering just over $17 million. But Monday actuals reported by the studios provided a clear winner. “Gran Turismo” ended up with $17.4 million from North American theaters against “Barbie’s” $15.1 million. Britain’s air traffic control system says it has fixed a “technical issue” that caused heavy delays and cancellations. National Air Traffic Services says it has “identified and remedied" a problem that meant flight plans had to be input manually for several hours on Monday. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has asked China to urge its citizens to halt acts of harassment, including crank calls and stone throwing at Japanese diplomatic facilities and schools, in response to Japan's release of treated radioactive wastewater from the damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant. The discharge of the wastewater into the ocean, which began Thursday and is expected to continue for decades, has been strongly opposed by fishing groups and by neighboring countries. Lawyers for Donald Trump are due back in court as a federal judge considers conflicting proposals for a trial date in the case accusing him of working to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Gou’s company has major factories in China that make iPhones. Eight U.S. Marines remain in a hospital in the Australian north coast city of Darwin after they were injured in a fiery crash of tiltrotor aircraft that killed three of their colleagues. U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and her Chinese counterpart have expressed support for improving trade conditions as Raimondo begins a visit to Beijing as part of U.S. efforts to improve chilly relations. A decade later, Simone Biles is still on top. The gymnastics star has won her record eighth U.S. Championship, a full 10 years after she first ascended to the top of her sport as a teenage prodigy. Biles, now a 26-year-old newlywed considered perhaps the greatest of all time, posted an all-around two-day total of 118.40, well clear of Shilese Jones in second and Leanne Wong in third.
