SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Teenage kidnapping survivor Elizabeth Smart has given birth to her third child. Smart announced the birth on her Instagram account on Monday with a picture of her holding new daughter Olivia as husband Matthew Gilmour looks on. In her post, Smart says "So happy to welcome Olivia to our family!" In 2002, Smart was kidnapped at age 14 from her Salt Lake City bedroom by street preacher Brian David Mitchell and held captive for nine months. JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday survived a political showdown that had threatened to bring down his coalition and trigger early elections. BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Colombian officials say four people have been arrested and expelled from a camp built for homeless Venezuelan migrants following a violent protest over food rations. Officials in Colombia's capital city say that a group of migrants in the newly built camp looted supplies, destroyed tents and attacked police on Monday at the site, which houses 470 Venezuelan migrants. SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a former Cleveland-area judge convicted of beating his then-wife four years ago now is a suspect in her stabbing death over the weekend. SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — A southwestern Missouri man who spent eight years behind bars for his wife's death before being exonerated is suing the detective who helped convict him. Lisa Jennings' Christmas Day death in 2006 was initially ruled a suicide. She had been shot at her Buffalo home. But an investigation led by Missouri State Highway Patrol detective Dan Nash determined that hand blood spatters were inconsistent with suicide. NEW ALBANY, Ind. (AP) — The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has confirmed a motor vehicle struck a black bear on a southern Indiana highway. The agency said wildlife biologists confirmed the animal was a bear Monday afternoon, based on information gathered by conservation officers. It says the bear was struck on Interstate 64 near mile marker 121 in the New Albany area at 8 p.m. Sunday. The injured bear wandered into heavy brush after the collision. WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — A judge in Rhode Island has ruled that a man who spent decades in prison for molesting children did not violate his probation by putting incorrect information on a marriage license application. The decision on Monday means that Richard Gardner will be released from prison where he's been held since his arrest earlier this month. HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — A suspect in the 2016 slaying of eight family members is back in Ohio, after being arrested in Kentucky. Butler County jail records in southwest Ohio show George "Billy" Wagner III was booked in at 5:45 a.m. EST Monday. He was arrested Nov. 13 after being found in a horse trailer in Lexington. Wagner, 47, waived his rights to an extradition hearing. LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — A federal agency has found that administrators at Haskell Indian Nations University underreported crime statistics for a two-year period. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that the inspector general of the U.S. Department of Interior also concluded in a report Friday that the Lawrence school had failed to follow internal policy when handling misconduct complaints.
