PAPILLION, Neb. (AP) — A student at a suburban Omaha high school has been arrested after taking video of himself with a gun on school grounds and posting it on social media. The Omaha World-Herald reports the student was arrested Friday in a hallway of Papillion-La Vista High School, and the gun was found in his backpack. Former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Vanessa Bayer is set to star in a comedy, “Big Deal,” at Showtime, from Annapurna Television. The project, which Bayer has co-created with former “SNL” writer Jeremy Beiler, is a comedy in which a woman (Bayer) overcomes childhood leukemia to achieve her lifelong dream of becoming an on-air host at a home shopping network. Bayer’s character is partly based on her own personal life story as a leukemia survivor, which she was diagnosed with in her freshman year of high school. Global Road chairman and CEO Rob Friedman is leaving his post at the studio, an individual with knowledge told TheWrap. Friedman’s exit comes as no surprise. Global Road, which was formed by Donald Tang’s Tang Media Partners (TMP) by combining IM Global and Open Road, was seized by creditors in August and subsequently filed for bankruptcy after failing to raise $200 million in financing. (AP) — West Virginia's Supreme Court says a company that built a group of dorms on West Virginia University's campus and now leases them from the school doesn't have to pay property taxes for the lease. The North Coast Section on Friday postponed 16 of its 24 football playoff games scheduled to be played either Friday or Saturday because of air quality caused by the devastating Camp Fire in Paradise (Butte County). DEXTER, Mich. (AP) — Officials say a school bus driver intentionally drove over an injured deer to end its suffering while some students watched. The Dexter school district in Washtenaw County reported the incident to families Friday.
