PGA Tour officials visited Alameda’s Corica Park twice in the past 10 days, and the course has emerged as the frontrunner for a planned new September 2019 event hosted by Warriors guard Stephen Curry. MEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — Graduate students at Tufts University say they have reached their first labor deal with the Massachusetts school's administration. A tentative contract announced Thursday provides raises from 12 to 19 percent over the next four years for graduate workers in Tufts' School of Arts and Sciences. HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania is finalizing the first major update to the organ donation law that's been in place for a quarter century. Gov. Tom Wolf's office said Thursday he plans to sign legislation that passed this week. That culminates eight years of work to update the law and resolve conflicts over how donors consent and the effect on criminal investigations. HOMEWOOD, Ala. (AP) — Officials in Alabama have identified a teen found shot and wounded in a vehicle along Interstate 65 earlier this week. The Jefferson County coroner's Office told news outlets that 18-year-old Cameron Deion Bozman of Pleasant Grove. Homewood police say officers found Bozman with critical injuries in a vehicle around 11:35 p.m. Tuesday. He was taken to a Birmingham hospital where he died shortly before 5 a.m. Wednesday. Sgt. GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — A judge has ordered two Michigan parents to stand trial for murder in the death of their malnourished 10-month-old daughter, citing the "callousness" of the father's 911 call in which he referred to the child as "dead as a door knob." Seth Welch and Tatiana Fusari were charged in August with murder and first-degree child abuse after their daughter, Mary, was found unresponsive in their Solon Township home. Dana McClintock is set to succeed Gil Schwartz as CBS’ chief communications officer beginning Nov. 1, which is when Schwartz retires. In his new role, McClintock will have oversight of the communications group that incorporates public relations, media relations and corporate and internal communications functions for all CBS divisions. MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Vermont's Democratic gubernatorial candidate Christine Hallquist says she wants to change public school funding to an income-based tax system. Vermont Public Radio reports Hallquist said Wednesday she wants to implement the change slowly so she can "fix any unforeseen problems." Two-thirds of Vermont residents pay school taxes based on their income instead of property values.
