RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a driver was arrested after two people were killed in a wrong-way crash on the 91 Freeway in Riverside. KABC-TV reports a California Highway Patrol official says a caller reported a driver traveling westbound in eastbound lanes at 1:47 a.m. Friday. The collision was reported three minutes later. DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The dismissal of a lawsuit in Iowa involving the former Argosy Sioux City riverboat casino owner and its nonprofit partner has ended years of litigation. The Sioux City Journal reports that Missouri River Historical Development, the Belle of Sioux City, which operated the Argosy, and its parent company, Penn National Gaming Inc., have filed a joint dismissal of a lawsuit and counter lawsuit in Des Moines. GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — A Michigan man charged in the neglect death of his 10-month-old baby says he shouldn't have been charged and that seeking medical help is "just as dangerous as not going." LOGAN, Utah (AP) — The president of Utah State University will see a salary increase next year. The Herald Journal reports that Noelle Cockett will make $424,000 during the 2018-19 school year. DEERFIELD, Wis. (AP) — Three employees of a machinery business in Deerfield escaped injury when a tornado ripped the roof off their building. The National Weather Service says the tornado touched down briefly Thursday afternoon. It also knocked down trees and damaged a home and playground equipment in the village. (AP) — Motorists will get their first taste of traffic congestion caused by a long-term project to rebuild and rehabilitate the viaduct and roadway approaching the Lincoln Tunnel in northern New Jersey. SEATTLE (AP) — A team of whale experts has injected an ailing killer whale with antibiotics in a rare effort to save her. NOAA Fisheries says the international team reached 3½-year-old orca known as J50 Thursday in the waters near Washington state's San Juan Island. A veterinarian examined the orca. Experts gave her antibiotics through a dart and took a breath sample to help assess whether she has an infection. YARMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — Public health officials say an unusually high number of mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus on Cape Cod. The Cape Cod Times reports that state Department of Health said Thursday 14 mosquito samples from Falmouth, Barnstable, Dennis, Bourne and Yarmouth tested positive for the virus after being trapped Tuesday and July 31.
