EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) _ Stamps.com Inc. (STMP) on Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $45.5 million. The El Segundo, California-based company said it had net income of $2.41 per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $2.75 per share. The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.41 per share. PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A charter school in Rhode Island is responding to a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Rhode Island alleging a violation of the state's open records law. The Providence Journal reports Achievement First Mayoral Academy in Providence says Wednesday it will supply a copy of its policy regarding transgender students to the ACLU. PHOENIX (AP) — A peer-to-peer bitcoin trader in Mesa has been sentenced to more than three years in federal prison after being convicted of money laundering. Prosecutors say 54-year-old Thomas Mario Costanzo received a 41-month sentence Monday, but will get credit for time served since his April 2017 arrest. ROME CITY, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say a child who died at a farm in northeastern Indiana was struck by a skid loader she had fallen from. The Noble County Sheriff's Department says 4-year-old Alivea L. Kurtz of Wawaka had been riding in the bucket of a skid loader when she fell out Monday afternoon. WANE-TV reports dispatchers helped a caller perform CPR on the girl until medics arrived, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate on Wednesday approved a catch-all spending bill that funds a wide swath of government programs, from Interior and environment to agriculture, transportation, housing, Treasury and federal courts. The $154.2 billion measure combines four spending bills into one and brings the Senate more than halfway to completing its 12 mandatory spending bills for the budget year that begins Oct. 1.
