MASTIC, N.Y. (AP) — Police on Long Island say dozens of partygoers attending a basement barbecue suffered carbon monoxide poisoning. WNBC-TV reports Suffolk County Police responded to calls about unconscious people at a Mastic home around 9 p.m. Sunday. Police say they discovered individuals at the family party had been using a charcoal barbecue in the basement of the home. AUSTIN, Texas — Police responded Sunday night to an explosion that injured two people in a neighborhood in southwest Austin just hours after an unusual direct appeal to whoever was responsible for several deadly package explosions this month that have kept the capital of Texas on edge. DANBURY, Conn. (AP) — A Republican candidate for Connecticut governor has made his first public appearance since collapsing at a meet-and-greet event. Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton attended an Irish flag raising at Danbury City Hall Saturday afternoon for St. Patrick's Day. Boughton gave a short speech, saying he plans to rest Sunday and return to his campaign Monday. Boughton collapsed Thursday night at a GOP candidates' event in Avon. CINCINNATI (AP) — A 3-year-old Ohio girl who was hospitalized after her baby sitter's alleged assault has died. Hannah Wesche was hospitalized after emergency crews found her unresponsive at her baby sitter's home March 8 with labored breathing and bruises on her face. The child's father previously said Hannah was left brain dead and not expected to survive. Hannah's father says the girl died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday. A grand jury has indicted the baby sitter, 35-year-old Lindsay Partin, on charges of felonious assault and felony child endangering.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Police officers in Buffalo have started a pilot body camera program. WGRZ-TV reports the Buffalo Police Department introduced the body camera program Sunday during the St. Patrick's Day parade. Democratic Mayor Byron Brown said in July the department planned to test 20 body cameras for three months before expanding to about 550. The police units that come in contact with members of the community the most will test the cameras first. Brown says he wants to test the effectiveness of the cameras during the trial run. CLEVELAND (AP) — Police say a woman was kidnapped and sexually assaulted before escaping from the trunk of a car in Cleveland. Authorities say the woman's escape took place around 7:30 p.m. Saturday. It is unclear how long the 30-year-old was trapped in the car, but police say two suspects fled from the scene after she got out. No other information has been released.

ELOY, Ariz. (AP) — The company that runs a private prison in Arizona is being credited with minimizing injuries to personnel and inmates with a quick response during a recent riot. That's according to the state Department of Correction's administrative review of the Feb. 25 disturbance at the Red Rock Correction Center in Eloy that left 12 inmates and one guard injured. HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Several truck driving groups have filed a lawsuit against the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the state Department of Transportation over toll increases. The lawsuit filed Thursday claims the increases violate federal commerce law and hinder a citizen's constitutional right to travel. SOMERS POINT, N.J. (AP) — A New Jersey hospital has launched a $100,000 funding campaign to upgrade its maternity equipment. The Press of Atlantic City reports Shore Medical Center is raising money to buy 10 new fetal monitors. The monitors track a baby's heart rate and a mother's contractions.
