AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Police say a teen has been charged with making a terroristic threat after telling students at an area high school that he planned to "shoot up and blow up" the school. The Austin American-Statesman reports that 17-year-old Ariel Alex Ramirez Navarro was arrested Thursday. Affidavits filed Friday said students went to school administrators after getting off of their school bus Thursday morning to report that Navarro has shown them smoke bombs, ammunition and a loaded magazine and made threats against the school. ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — In this week's New York state government news, state lawmakers are returning to the Capitol to begin their push to pass a new state budget by April 1. Legislators will be back in session Tuesday after a week off for winter break. There's one final budget hearing scheduled on environmental protection before the Senate and Assembly begin working on their own budget proposals. RECTOR, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State Police say a man who forced his way into a home in northeast Arkansas was fatally shot by the homeowner. State police say in a news release that police in Rector were called to the home shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday and found 40-year-old Jeffery Baker dead. Police say the homeowner reported that Baker had "forcefully entered" the home and was shot inside the residence. The homeowner has not been identified and no arrests have been announced. IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Police in Idaho Falls arrested a 26-year-old man accused of threatening violence on social media. The agency said in a statement that Zachery Rish was arrested Friday afternoon after police were notified of an alarming Facebook post in which he threatened to shoot someone and said he was unafraid to spend his life in prison. He later alluded to someone ripping him off in a dispute over drugs. Rish was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on charges of disturbing the peace and possession of a controlled substance.

SKOPJE, Macedonia (AP) — Macedonia has begun the process of changing the name of its airport honoring the ancient warrior king Alexander the Great as a goodwill gesture to Greece. Turkish consortium TAV, which operates Skopje Alexander the Great Airport, started removing the 3-meter-long (9.8 feet) letters spelling out the name from the terminal Saturday. BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Two physicians, one American and one Iraqi, reunited in Bismarck after forging a bond while working together during the Iraq War. Dr. Craig Lambrecht was deployed to Iraq in 2004 and 2006. He served as the senior medical officer and a field surgeon for a troop medical clinic in Iraq, where he met Dr. Firas Egal. AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $2.63, down four cents from last week. SOMERVILLE, Mass. (AP) — Police say a 23-year-old Cambridge woman was dragged by a car after a crash in Somerville. Massachusetts State Police say after a collision Friday night, the woman got out of her car and approached the driver of the other vehicle. Police say that's when the driver of the other vehicle took off with the woman attached to his vehicle. Police say the woman was dragged about a quarter mile before she broke free. TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A woman and man have been charged with murder after authorities say a drug transaction over psychedelic mushrooms went wrong. The Kitsap Sun reports 26-year-old Addison Bishop of Silverdale and 22-year-old Jordan Boshears of Bremerton were charged Thursday in Pierce County Superior Court. Court documents say both are accused of driving to Tacoma Wednesday to sell the mushrooms to Tyler Zimmerman and his friend. (AP) — More than 500 students from sixth- to 12th grades across the Midwest area are competing this weekend in the 14th annual Regional Science Olympiad at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut Comptroller Kevin Lembo says a backlog of state employee retirement calculations dating back to 1992 has been eliminated. Under the old system, state employees received a preliminary, slightly reduced estimated pension payment when they left state service. CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) — A Long Island fisherman is fighting federal conspiracy and fraud charges in a criminal trial about claims of overfishing. Newsday says Thomas Kokell is the first Long Island fisherman to demand a trial on such charges. The East Northport man has pleaded not guilty. Kokell is accused of taking 196,000 pounds more fluke than he was allowed in 2011, netting about $400,000.
