SIBLEY, Mo. (AP) — Parks officials say a grass fire damaged the Fort Osage National Historic Landmark in northwest Missouri. The site will be closed indefinitely because of damage from the fire Sunday afternoon. The site near Sibley includes a replica of a fort that stood at the site in 1812. The Jackson County parks department, which oversees the site, says fire damaged three buildings and a fence. The education center was damaged by smoke and also will be closed indefinitely. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — A federal judge has refused to postpone a hearing in a lawsuit brought by developers seeking possession of land in several Virginia counties for a controversial pipeline project. Atlantic Coast Pipeline is seeking possession of several properties in Augusta, Bath, Buckingham and Cumberland counties for the natural gas pipeline, which would run through West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina. A gas leak Monday prompted evacuations of residents for about 30 minutes in San Francisco’s Western Addition, authorities said. The incident was reported just before noon on the 900 block of Hayes St., a residential area near the intersection of Fillmore Street, according to the San Francisco Fire Department. By 12:30 p.m., the incident was resolved and residents were let back into their homes. Earlier, firefighters and police officers went door-to-door to notify residents of evacuations. BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A man was arrested in downtown Boise after police say he stabbed another person in the head. KTVB-TV reports the stabbing was reported at 5:53 a.m. Monday on 13th Street. Officers took 43-year-old Raymond Edward Ranson of Boise into custody. The victim was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Police say the stab wound is not believed to be life-threatening. BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) — A pedestrian was run over and killed by a street sweeper in Bellevue, Washington. KOMO-TV reports that officers and medics responded to the scene on Monday morning, near the intersection of 120th Avenue and NE 12th Street. The pedestrian was found dead under the street sweeper. The Blade newspaper reports that St. Paul's AME pastor Anthony Morris, wife Zelda Morris and 19-year-old daughter Kamali Morris are charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony. Police say 39-year-old Nickema Turner of Maumee was in her class teaching when the teen grabbed her by the hair. PARKLAND, Fla. (AP) — The suspect in the Florida school shooting appeared in court Monday for a procedural hearing about how legal paperwork would be handled in the case.
