RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — More than 100 North Carolina teachers who got bonuses have been told they must pay the money back because it was a mistake. News outlets report 124 Wake County Public School System teachers mistakenly received the bonus because of a clerical error. State law requires the teachers to return the money, and district officials on Thursday began contacting affected teachers. (AP) — A police report says the man charged with entering a Rhode Island high school with a knife and attacking a teacher told students he was in charge and ordered them to line up against the wall. Marcus Schlip faces several charges including felony assault after police say he forced his way into the Portsmouth High School gym on Tuesday. He is a former student at the school. PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A West Warwick man is facing a felony assault charge after allegedly pulling a knife out during a fight in downtown Providence. Police tell the Providence Journal responded to Westminster and Mathewson streets at about 11:30 p.m. Thursday for a report that a man was being chased by another man with a knife.
