MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a North Dakota man who wheeled a shopping cart with stolen merchandise out of a Hobby Lobby craft store was stopped by snow. Police say 22-year-old Dustin Johnson filled up a cart with about $4,000 in products at a Hobby Lobby store in Minot on Wednesday. After the cart got stuck in the snow in the parking lot and tipped over, Johnson allegedly ran off. CBS’ new sitcom “Living Biblically” is about a man (Jay R. Ferguson) who tries to live in accordance with the Bible’s teachings — but there are some places it won’t go in Season 1. For example, the good book’s bad words on homosexuality is “ideally a Season 2 episode,” executive producer Patrick Walsh said Saturday at the Television Critics Association press tour. That doesn’t mean the show’s freshman run won’t tackle any of the more dated parts of the Bible. Misogyny is the plot of Episode 8, for one.

CBS’ new crime procedural “Instinct” isn’t an in-your-face commentary on politics in America — mainly because it focuses on, well, solving crimes (and not the president’s criminal activity). But British star and executive producer Alan Cumming revealed the show’s title may be making a statement you wouldn’t expect from a show like this. A crash involving a San Francisco police car and at least one other vehicle disrupted traffic Saturday morning at the intersection of Geary and Arguello boulevards. A second accident then occurred at Geary and 3rd Avenue involving a police car that was responding to the first accident, police said. ROME (AP) — At least eight migrants died and 86 others were rescued Saturday from a smugglers' rubber dinghy after it starting sinking in the Mediterranean Sea off Libya, the Italian coast guard said. LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Forced to retire from the Lexington Fire Department after devastating injuries, Mark Sturgill found comfort among others like him. In 2004, Sturgill fell 30 feet in a training exercise, breaking a hip, vertebrae and pelvis and suffering a head injury. Sturgill still feels the effects. Through a couple of trips with fellow wounded first responders, as well as wounded war veterans, Sturgill has found comfort. POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Authorities in eastern Idaho say an elementary school was placed on lockdown after police investigating a report of an attack on a woman heard a shot inside a residence and found the suspect's body. The Idaho State Journal reports that Wilcox Elementary School in Pocatello was placed on lockdown Friday morning. OREM, Utah (AP) — A 63-year-old Utah sheriff's deputy has been arrested after being accused in Arizona of sexual conduct with a minor. The Utah County Sheriff's Office says Deputy Gerald Salcido was placed on unpaid administrative leave after being charged in Arizona's Maricopa County on allegations of sexual conduct with a minor and molestation of a child. SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) — A southwest Ohio woman has been charged with animal cruelty for putting a sickly dog into a trash bag for collection. The Springfield News-Sun reports 53-year-old Tracy Brown, of Springfield, appeared in court Friday and asked for a public defender. Police say Brown called police last month and asked how to dispose of a dead dog, telling a dispatcher she'd put the dog's body outside because it smelled. NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — A doctor who admitted assaulting a sleeping girl on a flight from Seattle to New Jersey's Newark Liberty International Airport last summer is now headed to prison.
