ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — A lockdown at a downtown Albuquerque hospital has been lifted as police continue to investigate a fatal shooting. Officials at Presbyterian Hospital say the facility was placed on lockdown as a precaution shortly before noon Sunday after a gunshot victim was brought into the emergency room. The man eventually died from his injuries. His name hasn't been released yet. Police say they're investigating the incident as a homicide. The lockdown was lifted shortly after 1 p.m.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Florida Sen. Marco Rubio announced that he fired his chief of staff after getting reports of "improper conduct" with subordinate staffers. The statement from Rubio's office was released Saturday evening. His office did not respond to requests for details on Sunday. The statement said Rubio had been made aware of "allegations of improper conduct by my Chief of Staff while under the employment of my office," Rubio wrote. The 2018 Grammy nominations were a triumph for diversity, with far more hip-hop and R&B nominees in the top categories than ever before. In a way, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that an organization devoted to supporting and honoring music would recognize the current ascendance of hip-hop as the dominant popular music form. But it is something of a delicious shock, because since they began in the 1950s, the Grammys have not exactly been inclusive. No hip-hop song, for instance, has ever won Record of the Year or Song of the Year.

DETROIT (AP) — Detroit's police chief says an officer has died after being shot while responding to a domestic violence complaint. Chief James Craig said 25-year-old Officer Glenn Doss died Sunday afternoon at Detroit Receiving Hospital. Doss had been in critical condition since the shooting Wednesday night. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan said Doss "was everything that is good about Detroit." Doss was shot in the head Wednesday while sitting in the passenger seat of a patrol car on the city's east side. LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas are investigating a fatal shooting on the city's northeast side and are searching for a suspect. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police say the shooting was reported around 7:30 p.m. Saturday near Washington Avenue. They say the victim is a 41-year-old man whose name hasn't been released. HERNDON, Va. (AP) — Fairfax County Police have arrested a man who barricaded himself inside a home for hours and threatened to shoot officers. The roughly 10-hour standoff in Herndon concluded peacefully Sunday afternoon when the man surrendered to officers. His identity has not been released. Authorities were first called to the home at 4 a.m. Sunday. They received a report of a man threatening to kill family members. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Actor Scott Baio is denying a claim made by his former "Charles in Charge" co-star Nicole Eggert that something inappropriate happened between the two when she was a minor. Eggert tweeted Saturday to ask Baio about what happened in his garage when she was a minor.
