(AP) — A top Mississippi official said Tuesday that the state will stop suspending people's driver's licenses purely because they haven't paid court fines and fees, meaning tens of thousands of people who lost driving privileges could get them back in coming months. A 31-year-old employee at South San Francisco High School was arrested on suspicion of sexual misconduct with a minor, police said Tuesday. Noelia Linares of Richmond was arrested Monday and booked into Redwood City Jail. South San Francisco Police began investigating early last week after receiving reports of “possible inappropriate behavior and relationship(s) between student(s)”and Linares, police said in a a statement. 1 Terror arrests: British police sent a bomb disposal team to a house in northern England Tuesday after officers carried out raids to arrest four men on suspicion of plotting terrorist attacks. Counterterrorism police detained the four men at their homes in Sheffield and Chesterfield. Officers then cordoned off one of the houses and evacuated local residents as bomb experts arrived and searches were carried out. The men, aged 22 to 41, were questioned at a police station. Police said the arrests were part of an ongoing investigation.

DUPONT, Wash. — Investigators are looking into whether the Amtrak engineer whose speeding train plunged off an overpass, killing at least three people, was distracted by the presence of an employee-in-training next to him in the locomotive, a federal official said Tuesday. The official, who was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity, said investigators want to know whether the engineer lost “situational awareness” because of the second person in the cab.
