The Journal Sentinel reports that some residents believe Mayor CoryAnn St. Marie-Carls has not addressed their complaints about an industrial barrel reconditioning plant they say is a public health nuisance. BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A former Home Depot assistant supervisor in southwestern Idaho has filed a sex discrimination and pregnancy discrimination lawsuit in federal court against the company. CONCORD, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts caregiver has been charged with raping a disabled woman in her room at a residential facility. The Middlesex district attorney's office says Titus Shungwa was released on $5,000 bail Friday after his arraignment in Concord District Court. Prosecutors allege the 40-year-old Lynn resident entered the victim's room in the Lexington facility after she went to bed and assaulted her. TEHACHAPI, Calif. (AP) — Kern County authorities say for several weeks there have been reports of a mountain lion being spotted in residential areas near the city of Tehachapi. The Kern County Sheriff's Office says the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has been notified and is working on the issue. The sightings have been in an area known as Golden Hills. Tehachapi lies between the western Mojave Desert and the San Joaquin Valley.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Rep. Todd Rokita is attacking a Republican Senate primary rival over a gas tax hike the former state lawmaker voted for this year. There's just one problem: Rokita previously voiced support for the same kind of tax increase. That hasn't stopped Rokita's campaign from calling former state Rep. Mike Braun "Tax Hike Mike." ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — An Anchorage boy says he didn't want presents for birthday last week but wanted money to help homeless people. KTVA-TV reports 7-year-old Logan More raised about $1,500 with the help of his mother Becky More who started an online fundraising page. The mother and son purchased 86 jars of jam and 459 pairs of socks with the funds. They donated the items to Downtown Soup Kitchen Hope Center on Thursday. (AP) — A former U.S. Postal Service worker has been sentenced to 15 months in prison and ordered to pay more than $900,000 in restitution for fraudulently obtaining workers' compensation benefits. U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme in Great Falls announced Friday that 55-year-old Deborah Durand of Fruitland, Idaho, was convicted of four fraud counts. ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Police are investigating after a man was found dead in northeast Albuquerque. Authorities say they are questioning four people in the man's death. Officers responded around 4:30 a.m. Saturday to reports of shots being fired. They found the victim at the scene and pronounced him dead. His identity or the exact cause of his death has not yet been released.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina's largest city will pay $9.5 million to a man who spent nearly 25 years in prison for a rape he did not commit. The city of Charlotte agreed to the settlement with Tim Bridges this week. He was convicted and sentencing to life in prison after a jury said he broke into a home and raped an 83-year-old Charlotte woman in 1989. WASHINGTON, Ill. (AP) — A foundation that handled money for relief efforts after a 2013 tornado tore through the central Illinois community of Washington plans to use some of its leftover funds to partner with Habitat for Humanity on a local construction project. CRESTWOOD, Mo. (AP) — Two recent gun store robberies in eastern Missouri are the latest examples of a growing national crime trend. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports police are investigating gun shop burglaries earlier this week at Southern Armory in Crestwood and Modern Weapons Systems in High Ridge. Data show nearly 150 guns were stolen by burglary last year in Missouri.
