Shell can drill into where the oil is in Alaska’s remote Chukchi Sea: Obama administration
Royal Dutch Shell received its last and most important Arctic oil drilling permit from the federal government on Monday, approval that it can drill into oil-bearing formations in Alaska’s remote Chukchi Sea. The approval by the Interior Department’s Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement follows return of the Fennica, a 380-foot minesweeper that holds the capping stack and other oil spill-prevention gear.
