Senate votes to advance Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination
The Senate voted Friday to advance the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, setting up a final vote for as early as Saturday. A total of 51 senators voted for the procedural step Friday, in what may be an indication of the final tally. Maine Republican Susan Collins, who voted to advance the nomination, said she would announce her final decision Friday afternoon. Kavanaugh denies allegations of sexual misconduct.
