Speaking on the eve of Dolly's 20th anniversary, Professor Sir Ian Wilmut said widespread use of stem cell treatments was still likely to be "decades away". What Mourinho said at his unveiling as Manchester United manager

Jose Mourinho was unveiled as the new Manchester United manager today, insisting he was a winner who aims to return the club to its traditional position of dominance. The 53-year-old former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter Milan coach said he did not want the players to think improving on last season's fifth place would be sufficient. "For United fans, for many years, success was just routine. In the last three years, I want to forget," the Portuguese manager told reporters at Old Trafford. "I don't want the players to think we need to do better.

Oil falls to below $50 a barrel as economic concerns weigh heavy

Oil fell below $50 (€45) a barrel today as concern about a potential slowdown in economic growth that would weigh on demand trumped supply outages in Nigeria and other exporting nations. Trade in one of Britain's largest property funds was suspended in one of the first signs of major financial stress following the country's vote to leave the EU. A flurry of data from China in coming weeks is expected to show weakness in trade and investment. Brent crude was down $1.04 at $49.06 a barrel at 8.47 GMT. Читать дальше...

Donald Trump gets the Hollywood treatment on Twitter

US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump isn't having the best of weeks.  Having previously boasted that he had no need for lobbyists' money, Trump has started asking them for just that - only to hear many aren't interested. He's polling poorly in Ohio, a state he must win if he's to have any chance of clinching the election come November. Why this illegal dump near Zabbar won't be cleared until after summer

The clearing away of an illegal dumping site near the Vittoriosa Bastion, close to Żabbar, will have to wait until after summer, as the equipment needed for the task is tied up on beach duty. In recent days, residents have taken to social media to complain about the eyesore, with photos showing discarded furniture, tyres and construction waste dominating the ditch below the bastion. More than 1,700 tons of waste were removed from an adjacent area of the ditch in March in the first of a two-part initiative by the Cleansing Directorate. Читать дальше...
