Noting that Gary Cohn was attending his last Cabinet meeting before leaving his position, Trump offered: "He's been terrific. He may be a globalist, but I still like him." (AP) — A painting that has been hanging at California's landmark Hearst Castle for decades has been identified as a 17th century work thanks to two guides who noticed a previously undetected monogram and inscription when it was illuminated by late afternoon sunlight last fall. SUFFERN, N.Y. (AP) — Police say an 88-year-old woman has been killed by a tree that fell and crushed her as she shoveled snow in the New York City suburbs. Suffern Police Chief Clarke Osborn tells the Journal News that Barbara Suleski was injured around 5 p.m. Wednesday and died at a hospital. Neighbors were trying to help her when police arrived. The Florida Senate on Thursday voted 34-3 to move the date of that year's annual session from March to January. The House has already approved the bill and it now goes to Gov. Rick Scott. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — A dying Missouri officer said over the police radio that he had been shot multiple times and didn't think he could make it through the window of a home from which two other wounded officers managed to escape. Clinton Officer Christopher Ryan Morton is heard saying "I don't know if I can move my feet" after gunfire erupted Tuesday night when he and the other wounded officers were sent to the wrong house while responding to a 911 call made from another town, according to captured police scanner communications.

New Line Cinema announced Thursday that it has picked up “The Many Saints Of Newark,” a feature film script written by David Chase that will serve as a prequel to his iconic TV series, “The Sopranos.” The film takes place in the 1960s when riots swept through Newark, NJ, and conflicts between African-American and Italian residents were at their worst, especially among the gangsters.
