The fire in the rural Delaware County town of Davenport was reported shortly before 2 a.m. Friday, and four fire departments responded. (AP) — In a story Feb. 7 about the death of a Colorado teen at a railroad crossing in Eaton, The Associated Press reported erroneously that the Colorado Public Utilities Commission had approved a project to install gates at the crossing according to the town manager. SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A former Utah lawmaker purchased at least two hotel rooms with taxpayer money that he is accused of using to meet up with a prostitute last year, according to documents reviewed by a legislative official. The DailyMail.com reported allegations Thursday that former Republican Rep. Jon Stanard twice hired a prostitute last year, leading House and state elections officials to review whether public funds or campaign money were used for hotel stays that the report alleges Stanard used for the trysts.

HOUSTON (AP) — The number of rigs exploring for oil and natural gas in the U.S. increased by 29 this week to 975. That exceeds the 741 rigs that were active this time a year ago. Houston oilfield services company Baker Hughes reported Friday that 791 rigs drilled for oil this week and 184 for gas.
