OMAHA, Neb. (AP) _ Union Pacific Corp. (UNP) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit of $7.28 billion. The Omaha, Nebraska-based company said it had net income of $9.25 per share. Earnings, adjusted for pretax gains and non-recurring gains, came to $1.53 per share. The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. NEW YORK (AP) — A new survey of pop charts over the past six years finds that men overwhelmingly dominate the ranks of artists and songwriters and that 2017 represented a six-year low for female artists. PITTSBURGH (AP) — Suburban Pittsburgh high school students will not be getting extra sleep, for now. The North Allegheny School Board on Wednesday tabled a proposal on whether to change the start of the high school from 7:25 a.m. to 8 a.m. The board says it needs to study the costs associated with bus routes that would be affected by the change. Parents told the board research has shown the start time is important and an extra 35 minutes of sleep would make a difference in how students perform.

Auto safety NTSB to probe Tesla accident The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the Los Angeles-area crash of a Tesla Model S that may have been operating under its “Autopilot” system. The Palo Alto company wouldn’t say if Autopilot was working at the time of the Culver City crash but said Monday that drivers must stay attentive when it’s in use. The company would not comment on the investigation.

Philly.com reports that 30-year-old Grant Shea was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty last year to six child porn charges.
