(AP) — Police say an 18-year-old student is recovering after another student stabbed him in the stomach during an argument in the parking lot of a South Florida high school. Police Chief James Dobson told reporters an 18-year-old student stabbed his classmate with a 4-inch knife just before 8:30 a.m. School security officers took the student into custody and held him for police.

(AP) — The head of Vermont's largest teacher's union says Republican Gov. Phil Scott's idea to require a statewide health insurance plan for teachers is really an assault on collective bargaining in the state. The Democratically controlled Legislature has countered with proposals that lawmakers say would save the same amount of money without affecting collective bargaining rights.

The Democratic governor told reporters Tuesday that the state has to be careful about "getting over our skis" on large new expenditures, including her signature proposal to help in-state students pay for college. Raimondo says she still wants to include the tuition plan in the upcoming budget that legislators are expected to finish writing in the next month.

DETROIT (AP) — Automotive parts and electronics maker Delphi Corp. has joined with BMW, Intel and Mobileye to develop the building blocks of autonomous vehicles. The companies say Delphi, with U.S. operations based in suburban Detroit, already has provided a prototype computing platform that melds sensors, artificial intelligence and other computers.
