I was the fastest player over 100m in every team I played in, including some backs who ended up playing SL/Champ, but it counted for precisely sod all most of the time because in rugby you seldom get a long distance to just run unhindered. Good for interceptions, kick returns, chasing down opposition breaks and supporting your own breaks but that's only a small part of wing play, especially in tight games. Meh friendlies mean nothing apart from players gaining match sharpness.

Wigan are going to be a threat come the play offs as usual but i expect Saints and Wire to contest the top 2. If the league is as poor as last year below Saints we could scrape in to the 5 but i can't see it as Hull look much stronger too and some others have strengthened significantly.

Hoping for some entertaining Rugby at the very least though last few seasons has been hard to get excited about even watching my own team. Читать дальше...

Positives:
Our front row is international class and as good as anything else in the league.
If BMM plays like he does for Tonga and Currie returns to pre injury form then our back row is probably the best in the league.
Our 2 half backs are proven top class nrl players.
We have 2 excellent finishers on the wings and a very good full back.
Negatives:
We are very weak in the centres.
We will struggle if we have crucial players injured(as will most clubs)
The impact off the bench, with the exception of Philbin, isnt great. Читать дальше...

I think KR will obviously get salary dispensation as there is precedent for that but they are also asking for quota space dispensation as well - is that right? There is no precedent for that but I'd expect them to get it and hope they do.

Nothing against TWP but there is no way in hell they should get dispensation 2 weeks from the season start for the simple fact that they have mismanaged their player contracts and salary cap. They can ask as much as they want but I can't see them getting it. Читать дальше...

Top 2 and bottom 2 I feel reasonably confident in predicting (but still wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong) but the rest less so. Hull and Cats in particular are hard to predict.

True. In this league anyone can beat anyone and had we taken our chances and got the rub of the green in these last 7 games we would be well clear by now.
Two or three proven players would probably have seen to that.
We do not need young 18 year olds signing we need experience.
Saying that Hernandez does have the experience and you just knew he was going to foul the QPR player.

Whilst our thoughts are obviouslg with Mose following his career ending incident, I hope we are politely asking for cap dispensation because of the unique situation even though we are below the salary cap.

On the other hand, how on earth can Toronto already be at their salary cap and only have 23 players? According to Nobel they are asking for dispensation.
