TEHRAN, Apr. 25 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has met with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in New York.

A Jodhpur trial court will pronounce its verdict on the Asaram Bapu rape case on Wednesday amid tight security. The self-styled godman was charged with rape allegations and was arrested on 31 August, 2013. Asaram was charged of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at his ashram near Jodhpur earlier that year and was later sent to the Jodhpur Central Jail.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — A Buffalo museum has made a rare discovery within its own collection: a fully intact egg from the extinct elephant bird that until now, was thought to be fake. Curators at the Buffalo Museum of Science were cataloging pieces in the museum's collection when they realized and confirmed that the foot-tall egg had been mislabeled as a model. NEWPORT, N.Y. (AP) — A manuscript detailing a New York man's experiences as a teenage prisoner of the British during the Revolutionary War has been donated to the Museum of the American Revolution. Curators at the Philadelphia museum say Rhode Island native Christopher Hawkins was 13 when he was captured in 1777 while serving aboard an American ship. COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The government is opposing a man's request to withdraw his guilty plea to a charge of harassing an Ohio sheriff for nearly 20 years via letters, emails and websites. A criminal affidavit filed last year said the harassment began in 1999 when Columbus resident William Young was arrested by Russell Martin, who was a Delaware County deputy and is now the county sheriff. DALLAS (AP) — Two Dallas police officers were critically wounded in a shooting that also injured a home improvement store employee Tuesday, authorities said. The shooting occurred about 4:15 p.m. as officers were escorting a man from the Home Depot in northern Dallas. The two officers and the store loss-prevention officer underwent surgery for their injuries, Police Chief U. Renee Hall said late Tuesday night. CINCINNATI (AP) — A federal appeals panel in Cincinnati will hear arguments over a Trump administration effort to deport Iraqi nationals. A U.S. district judge in Detroit last year blocked the deportations to give the Iraqis time to make their cases to stay. American Civil Liberties Union attorney Lee Gelernt (guh-LIRNT') says many of them are Christians or other minority groups who fear being persecuted, tortured or killed if returned. MIAMI (AP) — A quarter century after he vanished, a man dubbed the last of Miami's "cocaine cowboys" is being sentenced for a drug trafficking conviction. A hearing is set Wednesday for 56-year-old Gustavo Falcon. He disappeared in 1991 when he was indicted along with his older brother and others for their roles in a $2 billion cocaine smuggling operation during Florida's 1980s "Miami Vice" era.
