But as he inched forward, he appeared to extend his hand backwards — and an officer, 27-year-old Philip Brailsford, opened fire, killing Shaver.

Apple Inc. is nearing an acquisition of Shazam, the music-recognition service, according to a TechCrunch report published Friday afternoon. TechCrunch cited sources familiar with the deal and wrote that Apple could be paying "nine figures" for Shazam, below the $1.02 billion valuation it fetched it its latest funding round in 2015. MANSFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a tractor trailer rear-ended a school bus in Ohio, sending nine students to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The State Highway Patrol says the accident happened early Friday afternoon on Interstate 71 near Mansfield in north-central Ohio.
