Two men took to kicking car doors, mudguards and mirrors at Pieta' Seafront on Sunday morning. Ten cars were damaged in the incident at about 5.30am. One of the men appeared to be carrying a guitar case. Hubert Camilleri, a car dealer who uploaded the video, said many people had responded to his request for information and a police report has been filed identifying those involved.   He said the damage runs into thousands of euro, with side mirrors costing 400 euro for some cars, apart from the damage to doors and mudguards.

The ship has been banned from entering Italian and Maltese harbours. Malta  has agreed with Italy that the ship's captain ignored orders when told that the 239 migrants on board should have been picked by the Libyan coastguard. It also argues that the migrants should have been taken to Libya or Italy, since the rescue took place between Libya and Lampedusa.  Salvini has vowed to ban all NGO rescue ships from Italian ports. The Armed Forces of Malta delivered food to the ship on Saturday night.

German police say that 25 people have been injured, four of them severely, when an explosion destroyed a building in the western city of Wuppertal. Police say the explosion rocked the several-story building shortly before midnight with a loud noise, scaring people in surrounding homes so much they ran out into the street in a panic. Lifecycle (Malta) Foundation has sponsored the annual use and maintenance of a van that renal patients utilise as a means of transport in the evenings for their dialysis sessions at Mater Dei’s Renal Unit. Do ugly older people die younger? In 2012 Ian Deary and his colleagues with the University of Edinburgh tested whether older adults who looked less attractive died before their more attractive peers. The national interest trumps partisan politics when it comes to migration, Opposition leader Adrian Delia said on Sunday morning, reiterating the Prime Minister’s words that Malta will not bow to larger member states.   Malta has to date observed international law when it comes to taking on rescued migrants, Dr Delia insisted on Radio 101. On Saturday, Joseph Muscat defended his government's position not to take in migrants recently rescued off Libya. Former assistant police commissioner Mario Tonna, who resigned from the force under controversial circumstances, is back on the State payroll, this time as an employee with the Contracts Department. Last January, Mr Tonna, who at the time headed the police traffic section, made the headlines following a report of domestic abuse filed by his partner. Four Maltese men are under arrest after being found in possession of drugs. The police said a 28-year-old was arrested on Saturday in Marsaxlokk. He was found in possession of cash, a substance believed to becocaine and a bag suspected to contain a considerable amount of cannabis ready for trafficking. European countries should help migrants fleeing persecution, but economic migrants who do not follow proper channels and come here illegally should be sent back, in line with international law, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said on Sunday. The Sicilian town of Pachino was founded in 1760 by Gaetano and Vincenzo Starrabba, the ‘Principi di Giardinelli’, on what was originally malaria-infested marshland. Brigitte Nielsen says she has given birth at age 54. The model, actress and reality star and her 39-year-old husband Mattia Dessi released a statement to People magazine saying their daughter Frida was born Friday in Los Angeles. It is the fifth child but first daughter for Nielsen, who has four adult sons from previous marriages. She married Dessi, her fifth husband, in 2006. Residents of the San Blas Therapeutic Centre run by Caritas Malta held their graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 20. Prime Minister Joseph Muscat leads PN leader Adrian Delia by 26.2 per cent in a survey commissioned by the General Workers' Union weekly it-Torċa. The results were announced today, a year after the Labour Party was re-elected for a second term. Dr Delia was not PN leader at the last election. The newspaper says 62.8 per cent of respondents said they backed Joseph Muscat, compared to 36.6 per cent who backed the PN leader.  The Labour Party leads the PN by 17.8 per cent, equivalent to an advantage of 55,000 votes.
