Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo won a chaotic Azerbaijan Grand Prix today, with Formula One championship leader Sebastian Vettel finishing fourth after being penalised for swerving into rival Lewis Hamilton who came home in fifth. Eight spectators were injured when a car being driven by a Maltese driver left the road and ploughed into spectators during a hillclimb race in Piedimonte, Sicily, this morning. The accident happened at about 11.30am. when the driver, Ryan Mangion, lost control of his car, a Ford Escort Mk1 in a curve with the vehicle hitting the crowd.   Mr Mangion has been competing in hillclimbs for several years and is regarded as an experienced driver.   Of the eight injured, a woman and a 15-year-old boy were... Lufthansa sees no limit to the number of planes and crews it could lease from Air Berlin, its chief executive told German newspaper Bild am Sonntag, amid criticism that support for its ailing rival is a stealth takeover attempt. A pine tree fell onto a cable car in a ski resort in Indian Kashmir, sending the car plunging to earth and killing seven people, most of them tourists, police said. About 150 people were stranded in other cable cars on the mountain in Gulmarg in high winds, but were later rescued. Gulmarg is a winter ski destination but also popular with tourists during the current summer season. Malta is to move its security screening area to the first floor of the airport terminal, and will double its footprint. The move will take place this week and MIA said some passengers are likely to encounter some disruption. KRS Releasing are holding the 22nd edition of the annual National Cinema Day on Saturday. Local cinemas will be offering a choice of 13 film releases at a substantially reduced admission price. Films programmed to be screened on the day include new and recent film releases with a variety of genres ranging from action-adventure, comedy, animation-comedy-family, adventure/sci-fi, action-adventure -fantasy. The statue of St Paul was taken out of its niche in St Paul’s Shipwreck Church of Valletta this morning in preparation for a special procession to mark the 1,950-year anniversary of the martyrdom of St Paul. The procession will take place this Thursday, but parishioners told the Times of Malta that rather than the normal route around Republic and St Paul’s Streets, “St Paul will go to meet the Pawlini”.
