Five Maltese artists showcased their works at the Miami Art Basel Week, which was held between November 30 and December 5. Unifaun Theatre is holding auditions for a new adaptation of Ovid’s classic Metamorphoses due to be staged in July. Auditions will be held on Saturday at 6pm at Spazju Kreattiv Studio 1, St James Cavalier. The modern interpretation is in Maltese and requires highly-skilled performers playing a multitude of roles. Two suspected drug traffickers arrested yesterday were today denied bail after pleading not guilty to charges brought against them.  The two - a 25-year-old Venezuelan woman and 39-year-old Nigerian man who lives in Marsascala - were arrested yesterday, after the woman was caught with a kilo of suspected cocaine upon her arrival at Malta International Airport.  Police believe the drug was to be handed over to the Nigerian man and suspect the two of being part of an international drugs ring.  Magistrate... There is, however, a wealth of chamber music that is not often heard locally, from piano quartets to works for two or more pianos. The upcoming recital by the Grima-Gialanzé duo at the Manoel Theatre on Wednesday is thus an opportunity not to be missed. The 2017 Pirelli Calendar, created by one of the world’s top photographers, Peter Lindbergh, was resented in Paris.
