Rio 2016: Three Armenians to vie for gold
Three out of the four Armenians competing in the Rio Olympics today are candidates of gold medals.
Mihran Harutyunyan will face Egypt’s Adham Kahk in the 66kg Greco-Roman wrestling. If successful, the Armenian sportsman will fight with the winner of Thomas Lorincz (Hungary) - Ryu Han-Su (South Korea) duel in the next round.
Arthur Alexanyan (w/c 98kg) is also fighting in the Greco-Roman wrestling matches on Tuesday. He will face Italy’s Daigoro Timoncini in the semi-quarters.
The weightlifting competitions will feature Gor Minasyan in the 105+kg weight class.
Also on Tuesday, long jumper Amalya Sharoyan will join the games.
