San Francisco commuters will get a beginning-of-the-work-week gift Monday when the portion of Fremont Street that passes under the damaged Transbay Transit Center will open to traffic, Transbay officials said Sunday. The opening of Fremont, between Howard and Mission streets, comes nearly three weeks after cracks were found in steel beams above the motorway. WESTHAMPTON BEACH, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities have recovered the remaining two bodies from a small plane that crashed into the ocean waters off of Long Island, killing all three people aboard. The Coast Guard said divers located the bodies on Sunday after finding the aircraft wreckage in about 20 feet of water about a mile south of Quogue, New York, in the Hamptons. Debbie Stabenow of Michigan, calling her an ineffective, lifelong politician who too often votes with her party, while Stabenow touted herself as a get-it-done policymaker and criticized James as a cheerleader for President Donald Trump's agenda. ATLANTA (AP) — A Georgia Tech political group says Sen. David Perdue snatched a phone from a student who was video recording while asking the Republican lawmaker a question about Georgia's governor's race. Young Democratic Socialists of America's Georgia Tech chapter posted video from the phone after Saturday's incident during Perdue's visit to campus. 1 Turkey wreck: At least 22 migrants, including children, were killed in a truck accident Sunday in Turkey. The Anadolu news agency said the group was traveling in a truck in the western province of Izmir that rolled off a bridge. Video footage showed an overturned truck in a waterway. Thirteen people were injured in the crash and were being treated in hospitals. Their nationalities were not given and authorities opened an investigation. A high-speed chase in Bodega Bay early Sunday morning ended with a Sonoma County sheriff’s deputy crashing his car into a home on Highway 1, causing the vehicle and home to ignite in flames. The crash and fire occurred just after 5 a.m. near Smith Brothers Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. It shut down traffic on the picturesque coastal highway for part of the morning. MEXICO BEACH, Fla. — Crews with backhoes and other heavy equipment scooped up splintered boards, broken glass, chunks of asphalt and other debris in hurricane-flattened Mexico Beach on Sunday as the mayor held out hope for the residents who may have tried to ride out the storm.
