CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Authorities have identified a body found in a rain-swollen Cedar Rapids stream as a missing kayaker. The Linn County Sheriff's Office said Monday that the state medical examiner's office had identified the body as 34-year-old John Conley of Cedar Rapids. Conley's body was found Sept. 6 in Indian Creek. His wife, 30-year-old Samantha Conley, was rescued from the stream several days earlier after their kayak overturned. The creek was running high because of heavy rain.

Embattled producer and filmmaker Bryan Singer will get another shot in Hollywood as the director of another comic book adaptation, “Red Sonja.” Singer, who was fired from “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Fox, is in talks to direct “Red Sonja” for Millennium. Federal officials Monday gave the go-ahead to the proposed merger between Cigna, one of the nation’s largest health insurers, and Express Scripts, a major pharmacy benefit manager. OGDEN, Utah (AP) — The number of deaths in Utah prisons last year was only down slightly from the previous year, and two of them were drug-related. The Standard-Examiner in Ogden reports a new report mandated by state lawmakers shows 20 state prison inmates died in 2017.
