BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Two rare barn owls have been released in an area of southern Indiana where wildlife experts suspect another of the raptors is living. The two female owls were released Wednesday inside a Monroe County pole barn that's fitted with an opening that leads to a nesting box for the state-endangered owl species . ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota school administrators and busing companies are scrambling to get students to class on time amid a shortage of school bus drivers. Tom Burr is responsible for moving 32,000 students on 350 bus routes for the St. Paul school district. Burr tells Minnesota Public Radio News that he's 15 to 20 percent short on drivers. MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A historical society has received several land offers to relocate a Minot museum that's being evicted from the North Dakota State Fairgrounds. PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) — An Arkansas Department of Education assistant commissioner has been appointed the new superintendent of the Pine Bluff School District after it was taken over by the state. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports Jeremy Owoh was appointed to the job by Arkansas Education Commissioner Johnny Key during a Friday meeting of the state Board of Education. WESTBROOK, Conn. (AP) — A person has died after crashing into a state Department of Transportation truck doing work on a Connecticut highway. WVIT-TV reports a DOT truck had been doing work on I-95 in Westbrook on Saturday morning when a vehicle entered the work zone and hit a bucket truck. The station says the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. and that the identity of the victim hasn't been released. NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. (AP) — The annual AppleJack Festival kicks off next week in southeastern Nebraska, ushering in another fall season in the state. It's the 50th year of the festival in Nebraska City. The festival begins Friday with a street carnival, antiques and quilt shows and a food court. Saturday will bring in a 5K race, pancake breakfast, arts and crafts fairs, parade and apple picking. The festival wraps up Sept. 23.
