Schuette convention-related meeting held in state building
LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette held a meeting with his aides in a state office building to discuss the 2016 Republican National Convention, according to newly released emails.
The liberal group Progress Michigan on Wednesday released hundreds of emails it obtained in a lawsuit that alleges Schuette has illegally used his public job to aid his political campaigns.
One email shows a scheduled 45-minute afternoon meeting at the attorney general's state office in Detroit in July 2015 to talk about the national convention in Cleveland. It does not appear on Schuette's official calendar but is shown on a separate schedule in a state employee's personal email address.
