SEATTLE (AP) — Nearly half of U.S. cancer doctors who responded to a survey say they've recently recommended medical marijuana to patients, although most say they don't know enough about medicinal use. The results reflect how marijuana policy in some states has outpaced research, the study authors said. All 29 states with medical marijuana programs allow doctors to recommend it to cancer patients. Kelly's management is criticizing Spotify for removing the superstar's songs from its playlists and algorithmic recommendations. A statement sent to The Associated Press on Thursday says R. Kelly is innocent of allegations he sexually abused women over the years. He was acquitted of child pornography charges in 2008. Spotify has announced a new policy on hate content and hateful conduct and says Kelly's alleged behavior falls under that policy.

NEW YORK (AP) — Bob Marley's granddaughter said Thursday that she felt like her life was put in danger when a woman saw her and three friends leaving an Airbnb rental in California, got suspicious and called the police. KINSHASA, Congo (AP) — Congo's minister of health says the first death from a new outbreak of Ebola in the country's northwest has been confirmed along with 11 other cases of people sickened by the virus. DETROIT (AP) — Fiat Chrysler is recalling more than 325,000 older Jeep SUVs in North America to fix a suspension problem that could limit a driver's control of the vehicles. The recall covers Liberty SUVs from the 2004 through 2007 model years. Fiat Chrysler says water can get into the rear lower control arms and cause rust and possibly cracks. That could hurt a driver's ability to control the SUVs and cause a crash. The company says it knows of one crash but no related injuries. (AP) — A Massachusetts child care center has shut down temporarily after a child was diagnosed with typhoid fever, which is rare in the U.S. The state Department of Public Health confirms that one child who attends the Bright Horizons Daycare in Quincy has come down the disease. A spokeswoman for the daycare says the facility was closed Wednesday and Thursday so staff and students who shared a classroom with the ill student could be tested. WASHINGTON (AP) — The federal government swung to a surplus of $214.3 billion in April, primarily reflecting the revenue from that month's annual tax filing deadline. The Treasury Department reported Thursday that last month's surplus increased 17.4 percent from a year ago. The April surplus reflected both an increase in tax revenue and a decrease in the costs of certain health care and benefit programs that were pulled forward to March. DETROIT (AP) — Under pressure from the U.S. government, Mercedes-Benz is recalling nearly 43,000 tiny Smart cars because the engines can catch fire. The recall covers the Smart for two cabrio and coupe cars in the U.S. from the 2008 and 2009 model years. Zoo officials say the elephant named Punga died Tuesday morning at the Reid Park Zoo from double mesenteric root torsion, which is also known as twisted gut. NEW YORK (AP) — Equifax acknowledged a relatively small number of passport images and information were stolen as part of last year's security breach, despite previously denying such a thing occurred. The credit monitoring company said 3,200 passport images were stolen last year, according to a letter sent last week by lawyers representing Equifax to the Senate Banking Committee.
